Bharat Mata Temple is one of the most renowned Varanasi attractions. It was

sikhara-style temple. Built in 1964, the walls of the temple are engraved
with verses and scenes from the Ram Charit Manas, the Hindi version of the
Ramayana. Its medieval author, Tulsi Das, lived here while writing it and
died in 1623.
The temple has a rectangular tank of water called the Durga Kund (“Kund”
meaning a pond or pool.) The temple has multi-tiered spires and is stained
